Harriet L. Cohen is the founder of
TRAINING
SOLUTIONS,
a consulting firm that provides resources for internal
practitioners. Harriet’s
main focus is partnering internal clients with external resources
that will maximize human potential and performance.
Harriet
has been in the field of training and development for over 20 years.
Beginning in the public sector in Boston she was involved in
developing and managing cross functional teams, goal setting,
creating curriculum, and evaluating processes.
As a staff development coordinator, she implemented and
facilitated programs that united diverse groups toward a common
goal. She often spoke before the city council and school committees.
In
Los Angeles Harriet used her training skills in several arenas, both
public and private. She has provided services for Blue Cross,
Robertshaw, Kaufman &,Broad, The County of
Los Angeles, Sony Pictures, Universal Studios, and The U.S.
Air Force, to list a few. Her
current focus is on team dynamics, performance management, strategic
planning, marketing, and customer driven quality. As an associate in
a coaching organization Harriet has provided career transition
skills and support to over 500 people. She has had first hand
knowledge of business strategies and procedures, which combined with
her training skills offer both the practical and theoretical
information needed to excel in today’s marketplace.
The
American Society for Training and Development Los Angeles
Chapter has recognized her on numerous occasions for her
contribution to the field of human resource development.. As
the 1995 President she has been commended for her leadership and her
ability to advance the professional development of the individual
and corporate members. She
was instrumental in the creation of
the ASTD-LA/USC Institute, which provides competency based
certification in human performance technology. She has given
presentations to both national and international audiences,
including the 1996, 98, and 2001 ASTD International Conferences, and developed a
field consultant position for National ASTD. She is the 1998
recipient of the ASTD Torch Award.
Harriet
received her BA from the University of Massachusetts specializing in
education and communication. Her
M.Ed. is from Boston State College in a combined program of
education/organizational development/psychology.
She continues her learning through formal classes and
workshops. She brings strong
experiential knowledge of business procedures and functions which
combined with excellent training skills makes her a dynamic human
resources professional.
Harriet continuously seeks to find the experts who will assist
